The first option you should attempt is replacing the batteries in your Lock. Defective batteries may be causing loss of power to the Lock, rendering it unable to connect to your wifi network. Changing the batteries out for a fresh set may correct the issue, even if they are new.

Power Cycle Your Lock and Smartphone

Running your smartphone and your Lock through a power cycle may reconnect the device to your network. Power cycle your phone first, then power cycle the Lock using the instructions below:

Gateway Connection Troubleshooting

You may have a poor connection to the Gateway. This occurs when the Gateway is too far away from your Wyze Lock. Before putting the Gateway through the setup process, try moving the Gateway to an outlet somewhere closer to the Lock’s location.

Also, try power cycling the Gateway by unplugging the device, waiting 5 minutes, then plugging it back in. If this doesn’t work, putting the Gateway through the setup process may fix the problem.

To set your Gateway up again, follow the instructions below:

Perform the Set-Up Process Again

If the troubleshooting methods above fail to reestablish a wifi connection to your Lock, you may need to repeat the entire setup process with your Lock. We recommend referencing the instructions provided by Wyze with the Lock, or by going to the manufacturer’s website for full instructions.

What To Do When You Cannot Connect To Wifi

If you can’t access your wifi due to issues unrelated to the Lock or gateway such as an outage, you can still use the Lock. The key provided with your deadbolt will still work to manually unlock and lock the door because the Wyze Lock doesn’t interfere with the mechanics or key function. You can also use the Bluetooth connection for the Lock in the Wyze app to use the Lock features.
