It was only days ago that The Redmond tech company released Windows 11 Build 22610 for Insiders in both the Beta and Dev Channel.

  • The first major Windows 11 update, Sun Valley 2, is supposedly coming sooner than you think.Some experienced Insiders say it will be this month, others think it will happen 2 months later.Either way, prepare to get a lot more on Windows 11 once version 22H2 will be ready for RTM.

And although this recent update doesn’t bring any exciting or game-changing new features, some users managed to see it for what it supposedly is.

The attention grabber here is the technical preview watermark that we got used to during all of these Insider previews. And by that we mean it was missing.

If you didn’t get what we were hinting at, this usually means that the new major Windows 11 update might be RTM (release to manufacturing) sooner than we think.

Windows 11 22H2 is allegedly ready for RTM

The imminent release of Windows 22H2 (Sun Valley 2) may have just been confirmed on social media, so users are now even more excited.

Nickel RTM is due* this month.

It first started with the speculation that Windows 11 build 22621 is what Microsoft wants to ship as the final build for version 22H2, and that sign-off is May 20th.

Shortly after, Microsoft’s Senior Program Manager, Brandon LeBlanc replied to one of the comments on the above-mentioned Twitter post.

He actually gave no refutation against this rumor indicating that there is a decent chance of it being true indeed, as everyone else thought as well.

There is no official information to back this theory up just yet, but the signs are speaking to some of the more tech-savvy users.

Multiple Windows community sources strongly believe that it’s highly likely that Windows 11 22H2 will reach RTM this month (May 2022).

That being said, there are some who disagree regarding the RTM date, believing that a much more realistic date would be the end of June.

Windows 22H2, also known as Sun Valley 2, is actually this year’s only major Windows 11 update since Microsoft switched to an annual cadence.

If you keep up with the OS and everything involving it, you should remember that the tech giant ended the bi-annual H1 and H2 releases we were used to with Windows 10.

Thus, the official Windows 11 22H2 update could come with a ton of new features, including the ability to make app folders in the Start Menu, colored Task Manager, Focused Assist integration with the Notifications Center, more colorful Task Manager, tabbed File Explorer, and so much more.

Since we’re speaking of New updates, Microsoft has been informing Insiders that the Dev Channel will start flighting Sun Valley 3 builds soon, which is the next version of Windows 11 that will release in 2023.

Now, everyone’s just waiting for Microsoft to confirm the information and provide a realistic release date for future products.
