Microsoft continues to improve the Tablet mode in Windows 10 in an effort to alleviate user disappointment caused by the unpopular changes brought to this mode.
This is not Microsoft’s first attempt to fix the mistakes made when designing Windows 10’s Tablet mode. Earlier this year, the tech giant introduced a series of improvements to the Tablet mode in Windows 10 aimed at making it even more touch-friendly and easier to navigate through.
The Start Menu now brings a series of new icons, making it easier for users to access frequently used content. At the same time, users can instantly list all the apps available via the redesigned, more intuitive app list. App navigation is more responsive as well as you can more easily navigate through all the available features.
Users can also display an alphabetical app list and, for example, select the letter P if they want to access the Photos app. The left-hand app menu is more customizable with users now able to select the folders they want to appear on the Start Menu.
Another interesting feature is the possibility to hide the task bar when using apps to better focus on the content being displayed by the active app. If you want to go back to the Start Menu, simply press the dedicated key.
Dark mode is a very useful feature if you want to reduce strain on your eyes or if you’re using your tablet during the night. When you turn on dark mode, certain UWP apps such as Calculator, Alarms & Clock, Settings or People will also turn dark. However, not all apps support the dark mode.
Windows Ink allows Windows tablet owners to jot down notes with their styluses and even create pieces of art with their digital pens.
Of course, Tablet Mode brings many more interesting features that all users will soon be able to test. Actually, Microsoft still has enough time to surprise its users and further upgrade the Tablet Mode.
