In general, the Lenovo Ideapad has always been a series of strong devices aimed at the consumer, and the recent Ideapad 710S is no exception. What’s different is that the new device blurs the line between offering great features on a budget and offering a premium service and capacities. Indeed, it’s a great deal since it offers some of the best aspects found on luxurious devices found on the market at an accessible price.

It weighs 1.2 kilos (2.6 lbs) and at its thinnest point is only 0.55 inches (13.9 mm). Its design is modern and classy with an exterior made of aluminum and magnesium. Though it looks good, it makes the laptop more rigid than you would expect. The matte coating also brings on a more sophisticated look while also being practical.

Many commented that its simple metallic design with little adornments was inspired by the MacBook Air and indeed, it resembles the latter model quite a lot.

It includes a 13.3-inch display that comes with a 1080p resolution but sadly, there is no option for a touchscreen, something people might be disappointed by . The display Lenovo chose features a bezel thinner than most of the company’s ultrabooks, being pretty similar to the Dell XPS 13 product. However, it still offers a 720p webcam to cater to your video needs.

You can also see that it has full-size SD card support, a micro-HDMI slot and a USB 3.0 Type-A port one all placed on the same side. On the other side, you will find a headset jack, another slot for the USB 3.0 Type-A and a charging port. Underneath are its speakers placed alongside a couple of vents.
