The latest Windows 10 cumulative update which comes with the distinctive code KB4078126  has been available for users since February, 2nd. However, this is where things take a peculiar turn. Namely, it seems that this mysterious update is only, as we found out, a test update which — and bare with us — shouldn’t be installed.

We can only give our fair guess, but it seems that it is predestined for the upcoming major Windows 10 updates, especially the release 1803. Once checked, you can find out that this is some kind of test update, probably wrongfully deployed through Windows Server Update Service.

Apparently, KB4078126 makes improvements to ease the upgrade experience to Windows 10. However, Microsoft strongly advises users not to install it.

Reddit users are as  confused about this update as we are:

We’ll update this article as soon as new information is available.

”Took a look at WSUS console for the first time in few days and saw a bunch of updates for “2018-2 Dynamic Update for Windows 10 Version Next” for various platforms. Clicked on the “More information” link which goes to https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4078126 which is bizarre to me. Googling the KB #s doesn’t seem to give any good info.”
