Microsoft rolled out a new Windows 10 cumulative update to Insiders for testing purposes. KB4505903 takes the Windows 10 build number to 18362.263.

This time, Microsoft has not released any changelog for the update. The patch brings some improvements related to the security and stability of the OS.

Furthermore, it also improves the upgrade experience for Windows 10 users. At the moment, KB4505903 is only available to Insiders enrolled in the Release Preview Ring.

Microsoft also pushed Servicing Stack Update (SSU) KB4508433 to Insiders. The servicing stack update basically ensures the reliability and robustness of the Windows Update service.

It is highly recommended that you first install the SSU before installing the KB4505903.

KB4505903 reported issues

Many Windows 10 users downloaded the cumulative update as soon as it was released. It seems like the installation process didn’t go well for all of them. Some users are still struggling to install the update.

Slow Downloads

Many people reported long installation hours and slow downloads. The reports suggest that the update took too long to install after 80%.

Installation problems

Apart from the issues of the slow download, KB4505903 is also affected by installation issues. Apparently, people had a hard time installing the update via Windows Update.

That was quite a slow one. It particularly struggled after the restart at 80% plus.

Someone reported that the update bounced back from 100% during the installation process.

Strange thing, it took me 2 tries to get this to install using WU.

Microsoft is currently testing the update for reliability issues. The next Patch Tuesday falls on August 13. Most probably, this update will be available for all users in August.

KB—903 went to 100% install then bounced back and the installed. Never saw KB—-433.
