Many Windows 10 users reported experiencing issues with their Sound Blaster X-Fi sound cards.

Creative Technology’s SB sound cards drivers often fail to recognize the speakers.

This issue seems to occur after users installed the Windows 10 May 2019 Update.

Here’s how one user describes this issue:

Another user confirms he encountered the same problem:

Hi, like above. I updated my Windows 10 from 1803 to 1903 and my XFI stopped working. I formated my PC and still the same problem. I install the drivers (daniel_k 4.0 ) without any problems, but it doesnt detect my yy… (speaker X-fi), just SPDIF Is there any working solution ?

It seems that Sound Blaster X-Fi sound card users have no reason to worry though. They just need to have a little patience until a hotfix is rolled out to their computers.

Just moved from W10Pro 1809 to 1903 (18362.116) and unfortunately my X-Fi Platinum Fatal1ty Champion stopped working. Reinstalling SBXF_PCDRV_L11_2_30_0011.exe from 21 January 2016 does not make any difference. Some ports like SPDIF In/Out pop up in Device manager but no Speaker endpoint. Is there going to be any newer driver release for W10-1903 or is this the end of the road?

Creative is already aware of this issue and are working on developing a new driver that provides support for Sound Blaster X-Fi sound cards on Windows 10v 1903.

Creative_Ryan There will be a driver released very soon. Received an update from the team and it looks like within this week. THanks for the patience! There’s a LOT of work to do under the hood for these cards (that are 10 years old).
