Windows 10 May Update may upgrade at a slow pace, but chances are, it is not yet a failed release. According to AdDuplex Data, the Windows 10 April 2018 update/ version 1803 is still leading the market with a 58% share.

It’s followed by the Windows 10 October 2018 Update/version 1809 with 30% market share, while the Windows 10 v1903 is only at 6.3% market share.

What does the report say?

The AdDuplex Report states that the Windows 10 May Update is now at 6.3% which is up by 5% since last month.

This data was inferred based on a survey conducted on 100,000 PCs. With this, it matches the pace of version 1809 just a month after its re-launch.

However, this may not be a good sign based on how it ended previously. It was just a little more than 30% installations before the next version was launched.

Here’s why gamers should not install Windows 10 May 2019 Update just yet.

Why isn’t it bad news after all?

The new feature update may be on par with 1809, but the slow upgrade to version 1903 has a different reason. Many users rather delayed the migration to Windows 10 October 2018 Update due to errors in the update.

Fearing a complete elimination of some of the user filters reserved in the libraries, Microsoft had to pull off the entire update after a bug was found.

But the slow upgrade to version 1903 is due to the launch of the new version to only selected devices. This is done to discover the prevalent issues before they could affect a wide number of devices.

Users can run a manual check for the Windows 10 updates and get it in stages to different devices through Windows update.
