Microsoft rolled out build 10586.338 a few days after one of its employees confirmed the upcoming Windows 10 Mobile build 14352 would be released on Tuesday, bringing bug fixes and minor improvements. Build 10586.338 is not a fully-fledged build, but rather an update.
Build 10586.338 is available only for Insiders in the Fast Ring. To install it, simply go to the Settings app, Update & Security, and check for updates.
Although it is not clear what exactly this update brings in terms of fixes and improvements, it should offer a better fix for the battery drain issue reported by users after installing build 14342. Although Microsoft rolled out build 14342.1004 to target battery issues, some users are still complaining about their battery draining too fast.
Coming back to build 10586.338, it is worth mentioning that users who installed it are already complaining the lock screen is freezing after the update:
For the time being, Microsoft’s support team has yet to issue a comment to this thread, which leads us to think this is an issue Microsoft did not expect. Speaking of frozen screens, thousands of Insiders got stuck at the Windows logo screen after the post-install reboot for build 14342. You can try out the same fix for build 10586.338 and see if it works.
Updated popped in, did the download, restart. Screen is now frozen on my lock screen and will not wake from the lock screen. Called my phone – got recording that the device or person is not available – no voice mail either. Once before on a 1020, used the camera to wake up the phone – not this time. From the point of “restoring data” on the upgrade it has now been over one hour and it is still frozen.
