After a long wait (almost three months after the OS was released to compatible phones), AT&T delivered the Windows 10 Mobile upgrade to the Lumia 640. All users of this device are now able to upgrade their phones to Windows 10 Mobile, using the same method as everyone else.

This info was officially confirmed on AT&T forums, where one company’s employee shared with people that the upgrade for Lumia 640 is finally here.

“To anyone else viewing this…. Nokia Lumia 640 Windows 10 update confirmed,” said ATTKevinCS, an AT&T’s employee.

Microsoft disappointed a lot of people when it revealed the official list of Windows 10 Mobile-compatible devices. Many devices that by specifications alone are compatible with Windows 10 Mobile were left off. Most notable examples are the Lumia 1020, the Lumia 925, and the Lumia 920, and some other older Windows Phone 8.1 devices.

While the Lumia 640 is on the initial list of Windows 10 Mobile-compatible devices, for some reason variants of this phone that came with an AT&T contract weren’t able to receive the upgrade. Luckily the carrier now broke all the barriers, and users of the Lumia 640 are finally able to install the latest OS.

If you own this device, and you already manage to upgrade it to Windows 10 Mobile, let us know in the comments about your experience with using the new OS so far.
