One of the features Microsoft has been testing internally is the ability for  Cortana to show you notifications when your phone’s battery is low. With today’s build release 14316 for Windows 10 Preview, this feature is finally here for Windows Insiders.

The feature works similarly to Cortana’s ability to show text messages and missed calls from your Windows 10 Mobile device on your Windows 10 PC. With the newest build, low battery notifications are added to the mix and are now available to Windows Insiders running build 14316. It’s likely that the feature will be released to regular users with the Anniversary Update, along with other announced Cortana improvements.

To be able to receive low battery notifications on your phone, log in with the same Microsoft account on both Windows 10 PC and Windows 10 Mobile device — Cortana will then sync your settings and you’ll be able to receive notifications.

This isn’t the only addition for Cortana introduced with Windows 10 Preview build 14316. It also brings the ability to ring phones directly from computers, share maps across devices, and more. This is just the beginning: we expect even more Cortana features to trickle out as the release of the Windows 10 Anniversary Update draws near.
