The Creators Update is highly anticipated for many of its promised and highlighted features, but a brand new one regarding internet payments has surfaced, offering those that want to finalize payments over the internet a new solution via Microsoft Edge and a new API.

The new payment option is going to feature a fully integrated support structure for Microsoft Wallet and will allow the new API to be customized into a new Edge tool that will seamlessly and quickly manage online payments in a secure environment.

It might need some time before it catches on

It’s all about UWP

The fact that the new API was designed for Microsoft’s Unified Windows Platform means that developers that work with UWP will benefit from the possibility of integrating the API directly into their UWP-ready Windows 10 applications. This will allow them to facilitate online payments and offer payment request features over the internet.

Paying with Microsoft in general wins big time

Applications that will have purchases as their main focus will be able to profit tremendously from this API as well as consumers already familiar with using the payment options at their disposal on the Microsoft store. The API will make it even easier to pay using those methods and will thus improve the user experience even more.

There is still a long road ahead, however, as the new API isn’t scheduled for release until the Creators Update arrives, meaning April 11th the earliest.
