But although Microsoft unveiled USB versions of Windows 10, most users will install Windows 10 on their computers as a free upgrade from Windows 7 or Windows 8.1. On the other hand, we know that there are some users who prefer to have physical media with Windows 10 installation, over buying or downloading it in a digital form from Microsoft.
Microsoft didn’t say what is the reason for this delay of the release date of Windows 10 USB media, but it could possibly mean that there’s a complication in the production cycle to create these USB drives, or it simply may be a place holder date. We all hope that August 16th is just a place holder date, and that you’ll be able to receive your Windows 10 USB drives on July 29th, but we don’t have any official info.
