But although Microsoft unveiled USB versions of Windows 10, most users will install Windows 10 on their computers as a free upgrade from Windows 7 or Windows 8.1. On the other hand, we know that there are some users who prefer to have physical media with Windows 10 installation, over buying or downloading it in a digital form from Microsoft.

Microsoft didn’t say what is the reason for this delay of the release date of Windows 10 USB media, but it could possibly mean that there’s a complication in the production cycle to create these USB drives, or it simply may be a place holder date. We all hope that August 16th is just a place holder date, and that you’ll be able to receive your Windows 10 USB drives on July 29th, but we don’t have any official info.

Tell us your opinion in the comments, what do you prefer more, having an installation physical media like USB, or buying a digital version of the operating system? Whichever way you choose, Windows 10 is coming and you should be excited about it.
