Windows 10 Users Claim Microsoft Is Inconsistent With The Design In Latest Release

We already reported about UI and design bugs in Windows 10 May 2019 Update in a previous post. It seems like Microsoft wanted to release this update ASAP and didn’t care too much about UI and animation issues.

But users do care about the operating system’s design. As a matter of fact, many Windows 10 users who installed the latest update complained about inconsistent design.

These design issues are annoying for Windows 10 users. One Reddit user even created a post to inform other users about the inconsistencies.

However, such issues are not expected from a megacorporation like Microsoft.

The OP shared an image of the OneDrive icon in the taskbar and stated that the icon does not dynamically change in the light theme.

Windows 10 users were of the opinion that there are many other design issues apart from the one mentioned above. Windows Explorer in dark mode is such an example.

Microsoft should definitely fix this issue in the upcoming Windows 10 update.

Another user came up with a suggestion that Microsoft can use for both themes.

Which is totally fine, most other icons are colorful anyway. But this icon is for Onedrive, one of the integrated features in the system, so this should be considered in major version upgrade/features.

Some users who also use Mac highlighted the fact that unlike Windows, the design elements remain consistent everywhere in Apple’s OS. Others blamed Microsoft developers for simply copy pasting code.

Easiest thing to do is just put a black border around it and then the one icon can be used for both.

We can not deny the fact that Microsoft has a huge team across the globe. Therefore, it is difficult to bring everyone on the same page. We’re sure the company first wants to focus on functionality issues and fix reported bugs before moving on to design issues.
