This month’s Patch Tuesday was probably one of the busiest ones in Microsoft’s history. Besides regular security and non-security updates, Microsoft also publically released the third major update for Windows 10, Creators Update, and ended support for Windows Vista.

Among other security updates, Microsoft released the new security update for Windows 7 dubbed KB4015546. This update is available to all eligible users of Windows 7 right now, and resolves some of the known vulnerabilities in the system.

More precisely, security update KB4015546 resolves vulnerabilities in the scripting engine, Hyper-V, libjpeg image-processing library, Adobe Type Manager Font Driver, Win32K, Microsoft Outlook, Internet Explorer, Graphics Component, Windows kernel-mode drivers and Lightweight Directory Access Protocol.

Additionally, this update also “enables detection of processor generation and hardware support status when PC tries to scan or download updates through Windows Update.”

If you still haven’t installed the new security update for Windows 7, you can obtain it through Windows Update.

Besides KB4015546, Microsoft released a handful of other security updates for all supported versions of Windows. Of course, the main focus was on Windows 10, as the company’s latest operating system received the most security updates, non-security updates, and other patches. And of course, the new major update.
