Microsoft released a security update and a monthly rollup for Windows 8.1 and Windows Server 2012 R2 on July 11.

KB4025333 (Security-only update)

This security update includes a few quality improvements, and no new operating system features were introduced in its contents.

The update features security updates for Windows kernel, ASP.NET, Internet Explorer 11, Windows Search, Windows Storage and File Systems, Datacenter Networking, Windows Virtualization, Windows Server, Windows Shell, Microsoft NTFS, Microsoft PowerShell, Windows Kernel-Mode Drivers, and Microsoft Graphics Component.

You can get more information on the security flaws and vulnerabilities resolved by going to the Security Update Guide.

After you install the updates for CVE-2017-8563, admins need to set the registry key LdapEnforceChannelBinding to enable the fix for CVE.

A known issue with this update is the fact that if an iSCSI target becomes unavailable, the attempts to reconnect will cause a leak. Initiating a new connection to an available target will work well. Microsoft will offer a solution in a forthcoming release.
