One of the best Windows 8 Picasa apps has received an important update for Windows 8.1. If you’re already using Picasa HD, read to discover what it is about below.
Albeit an official Picasa app for Windows 8 is missing, you can always use the desktop version. But there is one app that seems to be able to replace an eventual official Picasa Windows 8 app quite well, and it’s called Picasa HD. We’ve talked about if before, when it had received an important update that brought support for Windows 8.1.
Now, I spotted a new update in the Windows Store and it seems that the app is now getting full Windows 8.1 support. Here’s what the release note looks like:
- – Displaying Album Map (for geotagged photos)
- – Location view for photos on the Properties panel
- – Supports Large Tile on Start screen
- – Bug fixes
The large tile feature is one of the new features in Windows 8.1 and was the single option that was missing in Picasa HD. While this feature was also present in the previous release, it seems that there were some issues reported by users in their reviews. Now, that has been taken care of in this update.
The Album Map for geotagged photos has been added and also location view, so you can see where your photo has been taken. Follow the link from below to download and install the Picasa HD app on your Windows 8 device.
