After being available in the Technical Preview mode for a long time, Microsoft finally made the announcement regarding the availability of Windows Server 2016 and System Center 2016. The tools will become available next month, to many fans’ joy. At the keynote held at Ignite 2016, the company underlined the unique advantages of hybrid cloud, underlining that Windows Server is a big part of this strategy.
Docker Inc , in collaboration with Microsoft, will be working on another part of the Windows Server, namely the Commercially Supported Docker Engine one. They also promised to provide this part at no additional costs, which is great. The company declared that this container technology will be available for any Docker product that runs natively on this OS.
They also announced that they will introduce some innovative Azure monitoring abilities, together with some updates for the Operations Management Suite. Their ultimate goal is to offer a complete hybrid cloud solution, which is a combination between the assets found on the premises and the cloud. Actually, you can already have a look at the next Technical Preview of the Azure Stack.
The product is scheduled to be released in 2017 and will allow businesses to use Azure products on their premises. However, the company did not announce exactly when System Center 2016 or Windows Server 2016 will be available, but new information should soon be available.
All in all, many users, and especially business users are excited about the fact that Microsoft is continuously upgrading its services, focusing on cloud storage solutions. Besides, the quick turnaround time of their developments surely has a great impact on user satisfaction and use fidelity. Now we just have to wait and see what else Microsoft has in store for us.
