Windows Terminal Now Lets Split Tabs Into Multiple Panes

Microsoft Windows Terminal is command-line software that brings together Command Prompt, PowerShell, and WSL within a single package. Thus, it provides users with lots of command-line tools. Microsoft released Windows Terminal for Win 10 in June 2019. Now the big M has rolled out a release update for WT.

Microsoft announced the Windows Terminal v0.7 update at an Ignite event in Orlando during November. There the Windows Terminal team provided further details pertaining to new features that the v0.7 update adds to WT. Microsoft has now also updated its website with a WT v0.7 update page.

The updated Windows Terminal includes panes. Those enable users to split a WT tab into multiple panes. Then users can utilize multiple prompts within the same tab.

Tab reordering is another handy feature incorporated into Windows Terminal v0.7. That enables users to reorder their WT tabs by dragging and dropping them. Note, however, that users can’t currently reorder tabs when utilizing Windows Terminal with admin rights.

Microsoft has also confirmed Cascadia Code updates for Windows Terminal. Consequently, Cascadia is now available in Greek, Vietnamese, and Cyrillic. Furthermore, the software incorporates a Cascadia Code PL (powerline) version.

Aside from that, the updated version includes a few UI tweaks and enables users to suppress application titles in tabs. There are also some bugs fixed in Windows Terminal V0.7.
