There’s a new available version of the WRITEit software from Lenovo. We’ve heard rumors of this software from before CES 2016, so the coming of this new update is not entirely a surprise.

For those who are unaware, WRITEit is an interesting tool that allows Windows users to write anywhere with the use of a pen in text boxes. This happens without the giant handwriting pop-up window that tends to annoy users more than anything else.

The new version is called WRITEot 2.0, and will be available to the general public for download beginning tomorrow, February 19, 2016. Bear in mind, however, the app is still exclusive to the Lenovo ThinkPad Yoga, ThinkPad Tablet 10, ThinkPad Helix and Yoga Tablet 2. That’s unfortunate because WRITEit is pretty good, and as such, we’d love to see it become available for other Windows 10 branded computers.

“We developed WRITEit 2.0 as a free software application to turn a Windows touch screen into a virtual canvas. With a pen or finger, users can easily write on, draw, highlight, doodle or mark anything on their screen; this includes: Word documents, photos, presentations, web pages, and more,” according to Lenovo following the release of the new update.

If you’re an owner of a supported Lenovo computer, just take a quick step to www.getwriteit.com to download the new update. If you attempt to install the software on a different branded computer, an error will pop-up notifying you that your device is not supported.

In recent times, we’ve come across information on Reddit that claims WRITEit 2.0 would land for all Windows 10 computers, but it seems, for now at least, such is not the case.

If the advices above haven’t solved your issue, your PC may experience deeper Windows problems. We recommend downloading this PC Repair tool (rated Great on TrustPilot.com) to easily address them. After installation, simply click the Start Scan button and then press on Repair All.
