The Wyze Lock takes convenience a step further with the Auto Unlock feature. However, even the best smart home devices experience glitches! If you’re here, you are most likely asking yourself the same question we are, why wont the Auto Unlock feature work for my Wyze Lock?

There are a few reasons your Auto Unlock feature may fail to work properly. To diagnose and correct the problem, you may need to go through certain troubleshooting processes to fix the issue, or you may need to reset the Auto-Lock and Unlock by repeating the Auto Unlock setup.

Even if there isn’t an easy answer to our question, we have to keep looking for the solution. Time to dig deeper and find out how to fix our Auto Unlock malfunction. Let’s get started with troubleshooting to get Auto Unlock working again!

Basic Troubleshooting For Auto Unlock

Depending on what is causing the Auto Unlock to fail, you may need to reset the device by repeating the Auto Unlock setup. However, before you repeat the setup process to fix your Auto Unlock feature, we recommend trying the troubleshooting steps in this section.

Please Note: The Auto Lock and Auto-Unlock feature can only be used when connected to your smartphone. If you are attempting to use either feature with a tablet or other device, these features are not available.

Check The Wyze App Settings

If you have the Wyze Auto Lock tab open on your phone, the Auto Unlock feature will not work until you exit the tab. Back out of the Auto Lock tab by going to the Home screen. This will allow your device to enable the Auto Unlock command.

Also, check your Auto Unlock settings to make sure they are enabled and set to the correct location. This setting is found under the gear icon on the Lock device screen.

Power Cycle Your Phone And Bluetooth Connection

Power cycling your phone by rebooting the device may correct the issue with your Auto Unlock by reestablishing the network connection to the Lock. Shutting the Bluetooth off on your phone and waiting a few minutes before turning it back on is also recommended. Motorola users may also need to turn the GPS feature on to use Auto Unlock.

Change The Batteries

If the batteries in the Lock are damaged or low on power, your Lock may not have enough power to engage when prompted by the Auto Unlock command. Changing the batteries can correct many Wyze Lock device issues.

Please Note: When changing the batteries, make sure to replace all four. Using old and new batteries in the device together may damage the device and cause injury if leakage occurs.

Create A Trigger

By using the Wyze App Rule feature, you can create a Device Trigger to run Auto Unlock when your phone gets within range, as well as to perform other automatic functions for your Lock and other Wyze devices.

To set up a Device Trigger, follow the steps below:
