Back in November last year we informed you that the official Windows 8.1 companion app for the Xbox One has been made available for download in the Windows Store. Now the official app has received some new features that we’re going to talk about below.

Xbox One SmartGlass app for Windows 8 gets important improvements
This is an important update, unlike all the previous ones which brought minor features and several bug squashes along with performance improvements to the app. Now, the app has been updated to send notifications when you get new messages, and it’s now easier to see who’s online and what they’re currently playing. Also, in the Friends tab, he activity feed has been given a new look and feel, but you’ve probably seen that, unless you have turned automatic updates off.
